Ahhh, Lexington. Horse Capitol of the World.
And in downtown Lexington, at the corner of Main and Midland lies a small park, called Thoroughbred Park. Here, you can see life-size bronze statues of Thoroughbreds racing, 2 mares and their foals playing behind the wall, and a foal taking a nap in front of the circle of flowers. Pictures can be seen here: on my Facebook account.
Also in the park are plaques dedicated to famous or well-known horse people, such as Samuel D. Riddle, who owned Man O' War, Henry Clay, and many others.
It was very cool for being downtown. Although only a quick stop, it was worth it, with all the detail that went into the statues and jockeys.
